There's a dream I had that has to do with this.
I had a dream that some evil villain was going to bomb the entire Milky Way, and as the bomb approached we were watching it on one huge screen receiving a broadcast signal from an outer-space camera. The bomb was almost there and I remember my last thoughts not being of panic, but of excitement. "Look on the bright side," I said. "at least we're all getting ready to finally see what's on the other side."
So the bomb hit, and my vision was instantly black, but I still had my consciousness and memories intact. I began to think of a tree, and it appeared on a cartoonish, sketch-like canvas. I somehow knew that there were others envisioning different things as well, and mountains, lakes, and land masses began to form along with color. Slowly but surely, we (me and whoever else was with me) began to recreate an entire world by using our minds, though we had no physical forms. It was almost like watching a cartoon come to absolute life.
What was interesting was that animals could instantly come back to life. I remember thinking "why", and a dog actually sent me a mental signal (not speaking English, but he apparently just connected with me and I knew.) that animals don't sense the same kinds of colors that humans do, and their unique perspective of the color spectrum combined with their memories allowed them to re-materialize and roam the earth once more.
So maybe as humanity dies, we become the creators for the next generation? My dreams are ****ing crazy for telling me this, but oddly enough, I won't rule this out.
