Is Beyonce Accomplishing Her Mission on Singles?
It is famously known on ATRL, that Beyonce has not had a #1 single since "Single Ladies," and only has had one Top 10 single this entire decade, "Drunk In Love." She has purposely sabotaged her singles by not sending them on iTunes on time, not placing the videos on her VEVO, or even sending them to pop radio.
"Formation," arguably her most talked about record, was not even released to radio, itunes, and is currently still unlisted on YouTube. Singles like "Run The World (Girls)" & "Flawless" are engrained into pop culture but seem like "flops" based on their chart positions. Yet, her star power continues to grow, her touring power continues to grow, and her legacy continues to get bigger.
It seems that the GP & even ATRL is starting to realize that #1 singles do not mean much in the long run unless they made a lasting impact.
With that being said, is Beyonce, on purpose, proving that chart positions do not define the impact of singles?

She really wants to be an albums artist. So she pays her singles dust, I guess.

I don't think mismanagement of singles = self-sabotage

Yup. It's all about the Benjamins in the end, and Bey doesn't waste her coins on sending cakes to radio stations, radio deals, or her face on every pizza box. She lets her music do the talking.

She literally just does not care about success of her singles. It's kind of sad to watch as a stan, but it's kind of great at the same time.

When you release a single, "Flawless (Remix)," and wait 4 months to release it to iTunes - then you purposely are sabotaging its success.

It's not 2003, if people like music they'll find it.

No, it doesn't her legacy has been capped since Single Ladies. I'm a huge fan, but let's be honest, the GP aren't buying tickets to see her perform 7/11 or No Angel, they are only here for CIL, SL, Irreplaceable - i.e her legacy.

Formation being unlisted, for example, is intentional. Even if it initially wasn't, they would've listed it by now, its been 3 weeks

She is a rarity. While some survive on a hit to hit basis to keep their careers going.
She simply exists and slays without "hits".
The power of Beyonce.

Wasn't she trying to promote TIDAL? So why put it on iTunes when her husband's company is halfway in the grave at the moment?
EDIT: OOPS. Nevermind. TIDAL didn't exist.

Yes, you don't need singles to chart in the top 5 to have impactful music. Toxic, Beautiful, RTW etc are all songs that didn't chart high but ended up being more remembered than most #1's.

So are you saying RTW, Self-Titled, MCSWT, SB (2x) are not a part of her legacy?

Beyonce is bigger and more discussed today than when she had hit singles. She's passed that point in her career and is focusing solely on doing what she wants. And based on her touring numbers she couldn't care less.

Formation is not even a month old, you're jumping the gun by saying it left an "impact". The majority of people do not know her song exists, the majority of people will forget about it within a few months due to the minimal airplay, not being available on iTunes/Spotify and the private video. The song will definitely not last.
However, she's still winning. Everyone at my school is talking about her new tour... my librarian was even excited she go tickets on June 3rd. She's not scoring hits or memorable songs, but she is still starting conversation anyway and that's an achievement.

This doesn't even make sense and no "fan" would say that. And you're also wrong about that seeing as those every at concert her fans are singing along to all the lyrics and getting their life, have a seat
