Now another remarkable performance has been witnessed, this time on China’s Got Talent. Liu Wei is a 23-year-old man who lost both of his arms in an incident with a high-voltage wire at the age of 10, according to Carole Erskine on Sky News, and on the show he showed off his extraordinary skill on the piano which he played with his toes. You can see his performance on the video below this story.
Viewers looked on amazed as Mr. Liu gave an impeccable performance of the classical piece Mariage D’Amour. Apparently he taught himself how to play the piano in secret when he decided at the age of 18 that it was what he wanted to do, after his teacher said it would be impossible to play with toes. Mr. Liu said, “For people like me, there were only two options. One was to abandon all dreams, which would lead to a quick, hopeless death. The other was to struggle without arms to love an outstanding life.”
As you might expect Liu Wei went through to the next stage of the competition after receiving a standing ovation.
