Before ya'll attack me, I said SOME, not ALL. It's annoying that I've come across gay men that think every person that reads the bible is homophobic. I know some Christians that actually accept gay humans existing. Does anyone understand and agree?

Because that's all SOME gay men have ever come across, can't really blame them if its from their experience

because some gay men are ignorant and probably have bad experiences with Christians.

They would have been drowned in holy water if every christian was homophobic.

Because SOME gay men have been subject of extreme harassment from christians just for being gay.

Because SOME gay men have experienced extreme prejudice by Christians and their own Christian families. Almost every Christian I know is intensely homophobic so it doesn't help that Christians are so formulaic

They associate religion with oppression.

Live in Texas and ask every Christian henny.

So does that mean every white person should assume all black people are criminals, all asians stink, every arab is a terrorist?

Honey it's not that they are trying to villainize Christians. It's a defense thing. A lot of gay people have experienced discrimination from religious groups, so they tend to be a little more wary of hyper-religious people.

And it's not the same as racial stereotyping because Christians aren't being systematically disadvantaged because of a gay person's view on them.

Because the prevalence of homophobia between Christians is very high.


Actually, it is in every religion.

Well for a start, anti-gay Christians ARE hypocritical and root for Ted Ugly Cruz just for his ambition to ban Gays from basically everything.

Christians think that the Gay lifestyle is wrong, but still don't have a problem with a a gay man himself, yet do not except his lifestyle. Also lots of them are rooting for Ted Cruz and watch Duck Dynasty.

It is literally in the Bible that Christians read that gay people should be put to death. It isn't unfair to be suspect of their feelings towards you.

I'm gay and I attend an Episcopal church and my boyfriend plays the pipe organ. We attend an LGBT gathering for individuals within the LGBT/Methodist/Lutheran churches once a month. It isn't everyone just yet, sis.

Bby, its a defense mechanism, we can't trust every Christian to be around with or they'll either support us or bash us.

For me, its better to be safe and assume that Christians are all almost homophobic so that we can stay away from their attacks or their annoying preaching.

Besides, Dallas is almost a solely Christian city and since September 2015, there have been over 20 cases of Gay couples being attacked physically, so far there are about three FATAL attacks.

The Cathedral of Hope (epicenter of the LGBT Christian support) is getting vandalized a lot more since the Freedom of Gays to marry.
