Adele to sweep the BRIT Awards

So, in case it wasn’t clear, Adele is unquestionably the biggest artist on the planet and at next week’s Brit Awards, we fully expect her to be honored thusly. Not only will Adele take home the top prize, the MasterCard British Album of the Year, we believe she’ll win British Single for “Hello” and British Female Solo Artist as well. Her clip for “Hello” also stands a good chance of winning British Artist Video, though she faces stiff competition in the fan-voted category thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of One Direction fans.
The Brits’ other fan-voted category, British Breakthrough Act, is difficult to forecast for similar reasons, but given his previous win and many nominations, we’re going with James Bay over Years & Years.
Although we think Mark Ronson will win a much deserved British Producer of the Year Award, we’re calling an upset for Jamie xx in the category of British Male Solo Artist. And for British Group, we’re going with One Direction, who appear to be heading toward their end and are worthy of one final honor.
As for the international acts, we’re inclined to believe the award for International Male Solo Artist comes down to a race between Brit Awards performers The Weeknd and Justin Bieber, with the Biebs taking home the award thanks to his career-redefining Purpose. Lana Del Rey, who won the award for International Female Solo Artist in 2013, will repeat on the continuing success of Honeymoon. And Major Lazer, who scored one of the biggest hits of the year with their DJ Snake and MØ collaboration “Lean On,” will win the award for International Group.
