I want to know why ATRL think they can discriminate against certain accents yet as soon as someone describes/stereotypes an issue to do with ethnicity/race they cry and rant about cultural appropation /stereotyping/ negative associations / racism yet they are contradicting what they are preaching.
My inspiration can be found below on the thread which was locked:
yes. I discriminate against whatever I want to.
Accents are hot tho, so I don't really. Unless it's the accent of Frankie Grande when he's alone with Ron Jeremy.
i think you can say you don't like the way an accent sounds, but if you judge a person's intelligence based on their accent then that's really stupid. but in the end, i don't see why it matters that much. it's not like "i don't like your accent" is a very hurtful insult, and i definitely wouldn't care about those people's approval.
also the original poster was almost definitely trolling. i don't know about the rest of them though.
Yet you're the same one who said people who sound too "urban" shouldn't speak to you, as if you're above them or something.

Yeah people from other countries make fun of American accents all the time. I don't know any American who's actually offended by it. I laugh when people make fun of my "valley girl" accent.

using urban vocabulary and speaking english as a second language (and having an accent because of it) are two different things. so yeah i am above the former but i would never make fun of the latter, understand?
Ugh just pay them no mind. The minute you said they believe in cultural appropriation i was done. All accents are amazing to me though. I have preferences but accents are generally the cutest/hottest thing in the world to me. British, Australian, Canadian, NY, Scottish, Irish, Jamaican, French, Arabic. You name it.
