NY executive shot dead by Police after attacking his family
Partner at New York law firm shot dead by police after stabbing his wife and viciously attacking his three children with a baseball bat at their suburban home
- Christopher Andrews, 51, was gunned down in Fairfield, Connecticut
- Was fatally shot after he ignored orders from police to drop his knife
- He knifed wife Kathleen and attacked his three children, ages 12, 13 and 15
- They were all taken to hospital with a range of injuries
- Neighbors said they were stunned at what happened to the 'nice' family

Christopher Andrews, 51, a partner at Manhattan firm Andrews and Andrews, was gunned down on at 6am on Tuesday morning armed with a knife after he ignored orders from officers to stop walking towards them.
During the attack, he first struck his wife, Kathleen, in their Fairfield, Connecticut, home, inflicting severe stab and blunt force wounds in the face, reports suggested.
He then struck his 12-year-old son in the face and attacked his 13-year-old daughter.

Andrews tried to hit his 15-year-old son with a baseball bat, but the teenage boy managed to wrestle it out of his hands before he did anymore damage.
When police arrived at the home Andrew's family were found scattered around the $700,000 property, with a range of injuries, the Connecticut Post reported.
They shot Andrews as he advanced towards them and refused to drop the blade.

Kathleen was listed in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital. The youngest son was flown to Yale-New Haven Hospital with critical injuries. The two other children were taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport.
The officer involved in the shooting was also taken to a hospital as a precaution.
As news of the shooting surfaced, members of the community tried to process what had happened, as they believed they were a 'nice family' who were respected in the community.

Police are looking into the case as 'domestic violence' but are trying to figure out the motive behind the attack

Andrews worked in a law firm on Lexington Avenue in New York. His brother Michael Rourke Andrews is believed to have died on 9/11.
He grew up in Rockaway, Queens, and graduated from St John's University in 1992.
Police are looking into the case as 'domestic violence' but are still trying to figure out the motive behind the attack.
Reports suggested there were no firearms found inside the house. There was no history of violence in the family.
