Predictions on when the Dance-Pop movement will fade?
There is always a sound to dominate a certain era, and eventually, it fades out. Nothing last forever. Right now, dance-pop is the movement of the moment.
But what are your predictions on when it will fade out?
Whenever lady gaga changes her style!! LOL, nah I'm just kidding, I never thought i'd say this but it's starting to get slighlty boring now! Hopefully 2011
I don't think we will notice when it fades. I remember everybody was crying on ATRL about Hip Hop/R&B dominating and next thing you know everyone was making dance/pop music.
What do you guys think the next movement will be? I don't think it will be anything new or innovative. Music is evolving, and it always comes back around. Do you see Hip Hop/R&B dominating again? Grunge? Alternative?
I don't see dance/pop fading any time soon. Young people love it and since they're the main drivers of sales in music industry, dance/pop will continue to flourish for another 5-7 years.

Hasn't it been that long already?
I'm not sure if it will last that long. The young demographic never hold on to a trend for very long. That's why we have so many fads and one to two hit wonders with terrible album sales. They are so fickle.
I don't know when, because you hardly notice when some kind of music is coming out. 2006 started with goods beats: Timbaland, Nelly Furtado etc later you didn't even notice when it faded and dace/pop music appeared with Gaga and other singers, but then again this can change.
Actually pop/dance music is good but after many singers singing with same kind of music it gets boring.
I hope dance inspired pop music is the genre of choice for a long time to come, but the next craze on the horizon is obviously dark vampire electro **** pop music.
1- Mine (not dance-pop)
2- Love The Way You Lie (not dance-pop)
3- Dynamite
4- I like it
5- Teenage Dream (not dance-pop)
6- DJ got us falling in love
7- California Gurls
8- Magic (not dance-pop)
9- Cooler than me (not dance-pop)
10 - Ridin solo
So the top10 is 50/50..... Its not that dominating anymore.
I hate electropop. It's ok for a diversion but to dominate in a certain span of time is just no! I want "real" music, music that has depth lyrically and substance, music that can move and touch you. That's why i never like this electropop thing and Lady Gaga in particularl. Lol
