it's a web based app from facebook for countries with slow connection, you might have to google the apk because it's country restricted on the playstore, it looks awful tho

a better alternative imo is tinfoil for facebook, it's based on the mobile website with a couple added features

or you can just create a shortcut to the website and keep it on your homescreen, the mobile site is actually really good

Facebook, I believe, is determined to drive their users away. The app size is too large, it's almost 100MB, I have high res games that take up less space. Then you add the cache which grows massive and as far as I know, unclearable without deleting and reinstallation.

I must have the settings for Facebook all set because it never shows up in battery usage unless I've spent any length of time on it. It could be taking a little too much advantage of "Background App Refresh" and if that is the case, it can be turned off so that it can't access anything unless the app is open

Do delete it. Facebook Lite is available for Android only but is basically a stripped down version of the app, meant for low end Android phones. For iOS the equivalent would be the mobile version of Facebook.. m.facebook.com

Bookmark it and add it to your homepage on your iPhone, after deleting the app. You'll see the difference. Faster phone and longer lasting battery life

to stop it from using ram/draining battery, just delete data and cache + disable it on the android settings > apps

omg what Honestly the facebook app is just trashy. Facebook has become trashy too. I mean you have to install Messenger just to contact people It's so ridiculous and those both take up a lotta space.

I can't even deleted it cause Samsung went and made that impossible without rooting
