Grease: Live's Vanessa Hudgens Gives Incredible Performance Hours After Losing Her Father to Cancer
Less than 24 hours before stepping into the iconic role of Betty Rizzo in front of millions of viewers, Hudgens lost her father Greg to cancer.
Of course, you’d never know about Hudgens’ internal struggles by watching her in Grease: Live. From the moment she appeared on camera — and especially during the pitch-perfect “Look At Me, I’m Sandra Dee” and heartbreaking “There Are Worse Things I Could Do” (video above) — she was every bit the spunky, headstrong Rizzo we hoped she’d be.
She is gonna be an award show darling if she keeps pulling stuff like this. By far her best performance i've ever seen. I knew i loved her for a reason and so proud of her for overcoming her struggles and delivering a truly magnetic stage presence as well.

I agree, I was really impressed when I first saw the clips. Legend
She was amazing, it was live but it wasn't literally recorded live last night
Keke Palmer was on Ellen and said it had been recorded and finished weeks ago
Don't ruin the illusion sis
I didn't even get to watch Grease live but I saw this videos after I commented and I was so surprised at how good she was. She's a great actor but I didn't expect that. Slay me queen!
