Every day, I see people arguing over how much "talent" their faves have, and why their fave is better for it. To me, this has always been a completely stupid argument to have.

What do these things tell us? The important part is that it's natural. You do not do anything to earn talent.

Yikes. So much for calling Katy talent-less. Anyway, y'all may as well be saying "(Kids of) rich people always win!" or "White always wins!" because...well duh they're born in a place of advantage. There's no point in bragging about it.

Who is an artist, better yet, what is an artist? An artist is someone that is skilled and/or talented at a particular task. The fact of the matter is, that an artist doesn't have to be one dimensional. An artist is not only a painter, but a singer, an athlete, an actor, etc. If you are someone that releases your creative brain more than others, and use that creativity to produce something that someone else can't, you are an artist. To simplify the question.... Everyone can become an artist, but it's up to that person to bring out that creativity and imagination, which in time will make you smarter than a non artist, simply because a lack of imagination confines creativity which also restricts angles to figure out problems, or better yet, make solutions!

Let's start with teaching people what iconic means first.

This is also true! I don't think people who aren't talented at singing, for example, shouldn't try to do it if that's what they love. They can pick it up as a skill, and I'd honestly be more impressed by seeing someone go from sounding like a goat squealing to being able to sing beautifully.

It means nothing because every artist is talented Katy Perry can play instruments and writing hits isn't easy.

Rihanna and Selena Gomez use their personalities to captivate the gp and have a good ear for hits which are also talents that clearly work based on their success.

Atrl seems to think a high vocal range is the only talent which doesn't even make sense because you're born with that. Having a good singing technique is a talent, having a high vocal range is not a talent.

This is the exact point I echoed in another thread recently. Being talented deserves no praise! Being gifted with capable vocal chords is about as impressive as as being born with a nice rack. I aint to kiss someones arse just because they were born good at something. That is sooo objectionable 2 me
