She will be remembered as a legend. The countless articles regarding Tragic Kingdom's 20th anniversary confirm that. No Doubt has been critically acclaimed since the 90s and still are two decades later. I do agree she/they could have extended album cycles much longer with many better single options, but at the end of the day she is still Gwen Stefani of No Doubt, and at this point that will never be erased.
Also, I want to add pop in 2005 was very different from pop in 2015. It's much more bubblegum-friendly now. Artists like Taylor, Selena and JB would have been much more critically panned ten years ago, but now their brand of pop is more acceptable. Gwen's albums were ahead of their time. Not only was she expected by music critics to create artistic work coming off of successful No Doubt albums, but also pop wasn't as bubblegum-friendly outside of Britney and Christina. You really needed a pop/rock element or a hip-hop angle for mainstream success in the US.
