Do Americans pronounce your country/city's name incorrectly?
I just got my mind blown away when I heard the real pronunciation of Haiti. It's i-ate-eee not hay-tee.
Now I'm paranoid that American English has pronounced other locations incorrectly. So do Americans pronounce where you're from incorrectly and what is the right way to pronounce it?
No, but I heard that some stupid people thought Canada was a part of USA and that we used the same money as them the rest often think Toronto is the capital city of Canada
Haitians pronounce it according to French/Creole phonetics and Americans pronounce it according to American English phonetics. The US isn't the only country whose citizens pronounce country names according to their own home language and read phonetically as written in that language. That isn't disrespectful or ignorant -- most countries don't pronounce the United States of America in English and in an American accent and that's fine. It's nit picky af to "drag" Americans over that, but I guess any excuse will do for some.

Americans dont pronounce your country's name wrong. We are simply pronouncing it according to the conventions of American English. Just like how we say Russia and not Rossiya...
That is the correct pronunciation in English though (the Brits and Aussies also pronounce it this way). Should we start saying "Ar-hen-teenah", "Espaņa" (when there is no "ņ" sound in English"), or "Nihon"?
I actually had a white peer of mine who like to pronounce it as "Ah-ee-tee" and he was always made fun of. He also thought that it was cute when he said "Meh-hee-coh". Fool.

When white people over here say "Meh-hee-coh" people take it as them making fun of the language or something
