This is for those of you who have had crushes and/or relationships, have you ever gotten your heart broken? If so, how did you deal with it?

I had a friend that i was in love with that chose someone else and im kinda having a hard time coping. He still wants to be friends but that just makes it so much worse. Maybe hearing how you all got over heartbreak can help me and any other members that might be going through the same

I remember when I broke up with my first boyfriend, I was never going to get over it. I thought life was over as I knew it. I couldn't focus.

All in all, time really helped me. As cliche as that may sound. Life just moved on and eventually, so did I. You have to give yourself time and maybe even distance yourself if necessary.

My heart was broken by my last ex who started to treat me like ****. I know it was due to us only seeing each other twice a week, but he literally was so unfair arguing with me and took on such an egocentric point of view.. He didnt even consider my point of view for a second but only blamed me for what I was supposedly not doing and how I didnt put enough passion and determination into our relationship (for the record, I was always the one who had to go to him and use the trains constantly).. I couldnt believe this was the guy I fell in love with. He even insulted me at one point... Ugh, I still cant believe that he was able to react the way he did cause I felt we matched perfectly.. It still kind of makes me sad even though I know that I dont deserve sth like this and Im better off alone again.
It's still weird how our human mind tends to look nostalgically on things..

My advice: Delete everything and try to avoid keeping in contact with things that remind you of him. Eventually, u'll get past it.

Time always helps, and being busy with personal projects, hobbies, trips, school or work helps even more.

I was in a similar situation when I fell in love with a friend of mine. He didn't love me back, even though I tried so hard. Maybe too hard. We kept the contact because I wasn't able to let go off him and I knew that I was important to him, but just as a friend.

Then he started seeing other guys and that was the time that nearly destroyed me. I imagined him with these other stupid random guys who are unworthy and will never love him as much as I do. And I was right there, still in contact with him. I saw him online and knew that he was texting those other guys. I wasn't able to sleep, or eat, or do fun stuff with friends. I didn't participate in life anymore and became really depressive. It hurts so much.

But now I'm fine. Time really is a healer. And it's important to keep living. Treat yourself well, do sports, do the things that make you happy. Please don't feel worthless because someone is not able to love you. The important thing is that you are able to love and that is great because sooner or later you will find someone who will love you back.

But I don't let it stop me. I believe in true love and finding someone that I can love and be with forever. Would it be great if I never gotten my heart broken? Yeah. But I don't regret them because it just makes me value love more because obviously if it's meant to be, it's meant to be and life will work itself out/ Sometimes if you like someone and their not ready to date, you got to give them time. If it's meant to be, y'all will come and give it a try. If it doesn't, life has better plans for you.

Heart Break is horrible but I will never or no one should let it become a part of your life. We're all beautiful and strong and deserve happiness and love, never let the negatives get in the way.

I totally agree, but it's sad it takes away the "unfilteredness" when you date. I have become so suspicious of men, it's incredible. I don't trust them anymore and it takes a LOT more to convince me these days to even date than beforehand.
