Meh, maybe its a location thing. The place where i'm from, people just assume chav's are the way you said (i'm not saying your wrong, like I said before, i think it just depends on your area), which bugs me. Emo's are another irritating steroetype. People just assume they sit around all day getting high and cutting themselves, but they don't.
