Simple Definition of jihad
Popularity: Top 20% of words
: a war fought by Muslims to defend or spread their beliefs
I've read that there are two types of jihad - "greater jihad" is the inner spiritual struggle of Muslims to uphold their religion and to follow the teachings of Islam, while "lesser jihad" is an outer physical struggle against the enemies of Islam, which may be either violent or non-violent in nature, and therefore may be criminal (but usually isn't).
jihad in the sense of religious war against non-muslims? yes
Why are we ignoring the fact that Jihadists also target muslims?
OT: Jihad in concept is not a crime, however, extremists use the Jihad in order to justify their crimes. I don't think Jihad is a crime, but the actions that it excuses are.
