Colombians Burn Pia Wurtzbach & Steve Harvey Effigy
MANILA - A video showing a Colombian burning an effigy of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach to celebrate New Year's Eve has been making rounds online Friday, sparking outrage from Filipinos.
The minute-long clip was uploaded on Facebook by a certain Noider Almanza Barraza, who according to his profile, hails from Barranquilla, Colombia.
It has since been shared more than 1,300 times on the social media site, with several Filipino users criticizing the act that has been described as "disrespectful."
Traditionally, effigy burning is part of the New Year's Eve celebrations in countries such as Colombia and Peru.
