It's no secret that the LGBT community has a stigma for promiscuity (not that I'm saying it's a bad thing) but should we slow down and be less rabid in our appreciation of the people we fancy? I don't think objectifying people as sexual objects is ever healthy for society and if it's wrong for women, it should be wrong for men as well.

People of all genders and sexualities objectify the gender/sexuality they're attracted to because we're sexual objects. Yeah, there's more to us than just our physical appearance, but there's also nothing wrong with people recognising and acknowledging what they find attractive

Yes. But alot of them don't have fathers, so they need that 'dad' figure i guess. Therefore resulting in every other post being 'dad',daddy','father', because they lack self-respect and have low self-esteem as well as no morals

Yes, they do; and if this site is representative of the community at large (which I think it is), it is a problem that needs to be worked on. My biggest issue is the infatuation and lusting over complete strangers. I get physical attraction, but at times the line is crossed where looks almost seem to be the only important variable. Case in point: "He's so perfect". I think one should know more about someone than just their physical presence before jumping to such conclusions, but that is just me.

Ok I don't know how we went from "he's so hot!" comments on an internet forum to women getting raped, but I'm just saying recognising what you're attracted to is just human nature and acknowledging that doesn't mean you're reducing someone to their physical appearance and nothing more. ^^ Women, unlike men, are objectified to a point at which we stop treating them like people and more like objects. The difference is that we lust over men because of how they look, not because they have conformed to our ideas of HOW they SHOULD look and act.

I think the OP is reaching and the mindset he's claiming is uncommon, and it's possible he mis-perceives on account of people being obviously hyperbolic as they tend to be on this site. Like whatever he's talking about with "a thread here last night of a guy opening a thread claiming a model."

On a serious note though I think I don't think it's that big of an issue. Men are generally more sexual beings. Women being objectified is a much bigger issue imo because they have much more to lose because of it. Also all of the comments in those threads are just jokes, nobody is serious about anything they say there. As opposed to the men that make those comments to women irl. I could get more in depth but it's late and I'm a biT tipsy

Eh you might be right, atrl is often the battleground for who can seek the most attention. I just noticed a pattern not just on atrl but on other sites like tumblr.
