Lebron Goes to Miami Heats
Tonight at 9:00 pm ET on ESPN basketball superstar LeBron James made a big announcement in relation to where he will be playing in the upcoming season. Since the end of the NBA season there has been an enormous amount of speculation on which team he will sign with. The teams in the for front were the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, and the only team he has played with in his professional career the Cleveland Cavaliers. Yesterday two big NBA signings took place with Chris Bosh going to the Heat and Carlos Boozer signing with the Bulls.
LeBron James was born on December 30th, 1984 in Akron Ohio. Questions around who his father are currently making news along with who he will be signing with. He was selected first overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and has remained with them for the past seven years. He officially became a free agent on July 1st and also filed papers to change his jersey number from 23 to 6 for the upcoming season. Questions around who his father are currently making news along with who he will be signing with.
This week LeBron James opened up a twitter account under the name KingJames. He then posted on his twitter that tonight he would let the world know which team he would be signing with. All talk leading up to tonight’s interview had the Miami Heat as the front runners. And with that James will be heading to South Beach to hit the court with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

That was a slap in the face to the state of Ohio for that boy to go on national tv and do that to them. Should've just announced it to the public like every free agent and go from there, instead of this whole tv special. I really do feel for the Cavs.

I can't believe I once had an avatar of that asshole on this forum.
EDIT: Just thought I'd re-post this from Twitter. I'm sure I'll get over this in the long run, but I can't help but feel like I, too, have been stabbed in the back.

Let me say, to start, that what I'm about to say would have happened regardless of where LeBron went if it wasn't Cleveland, but the move to Miami has opened up new wounds. LeBron was the reason that I seriously began following the NBA again, the reason that I became involved in what the overpaid basketball players did every night, which players were the best performing, which players were stinking up the joint. LeBron made that happen. I revered the ground that man stood on, was overjoyed when he made it to the finals in 2007, was heartbroken when the Cavs lost to the Magic and Celtics in consecutive years, and was agonizing throughout the summer about LeBron's choice.
Now that he has made his choice, I can weigh in on how I feel about this decision, and it goes, quite simply, like this: **** you, LeBron James. **** you. You had the chance to finally give Cleveland a champion, something that they could hold on to for the rest of their miserable lives, and you decide to go play with your butt buddies in Miami. You orchestrated a ****ing one hour show to, basically, kill professional basketball in the state of Ohio. Was it worth it? Was it really worth it to stomp on the hopes and dreams of an entire city? I honestly thought that, even despite all of your flaws, you were a better man than this. I guess I was wrong to have ever thought that way.
So, what now? Do I still root for the Cavs, out of spite? Do I, perhaps, go to the Wizards and root for a REAL man in John Wall? I'm not sure yet. I AM sure that I'll be rooting for the Bengals, Reds and Wildcats for as long as I remain a living person, but one entity that I will not root for any longer is LeBron James, the king without a crown.

I don't know why they call him a "KING." A King doesn't abandon his people.

This.
I'm a Cleveland diehard. I root for the Browns, Cavs, and Indians. I'm not old enough for remember the heartbreak that the city's sportsteams have faced, but I'm well aware of it....it was such a slap in the face to publicly humiliate us on LIVE national television. He was one of us, he KNOWS how it feels to be a Cleveland fan and experience the humiliation and pain that this city always goes through. I don't blame him for leaving, but he left us in the most classless way...

What some of the Cavs Fans did after his decision was completely overboard & classless as well. He's only one man. He tried his very best but it wasn't good enough. I feel it was a good move for him & his family, hopefully he will get the ring he wants & Deserve!!!
It time for the East To dominate the Championship...Sorry Kobe

It has a lot to do with the manner in which he did the switch. Don't go to ESPN requesting a one hour special to make a decision about switching teams and leaving Cleveland high and dry. Release a statement and move on with your life. He basically publicly humiliated the franchise on national tv when it wasn't necessary to do so.
Not even.....you may want to go back in time to ole school Lakers or Celtics in the 80's for such a team.

LOL @ people getting mad. Lebron wants to win. He was never gonna to get that staying with Cleveland (at least not alone) and people would have continously dogged him for it after his career is said and done, so it's understandable that he made that decision. I would have done the same thing. Now doing all this just to announce that was unneccessary. He could have just tweeted that.
Now if Cleveland goes on to win and Lebron never wins......

I really don't see why ya'll are mad. I was watching LKL last night, as a panel was talking about his decision and what not, and when they went to a reporter in a Cleveland bar, the people were chanting "Asshole". I honestly can't see how people could go from loving someone so much, to hating them so fiercely.
This man gave seven years to Cleveland, and they didn't give him one championship ring. He is simply the most talented basketball player in the NBA today. The Cavs won A LOT of games, breaking records even, but they didn't win the championship. Simply put, it is a bad team. He can only carry them so far. He's 25 years of age currently, in the game of basketball, that isn't young. He should've won a few rings by now. Time is ticking for him, and he did what was right. Cleveland needed him more than he needed them. I know this may be a personal topic for those of you in Cleveland, but it is the truth. I live in Toronto, we lost Bosh. Although, I knew it was just a matter of time before he'd leave. You can't blame them.
In Miami he will most certainly win several championship rings. I personally wanted him to go to the New Jersey Nets. Jay-Z plans on bringing the team to New York (its original home), so that the top three stars in the world of entertainment will all be together in New York. Of course, that is a Beyoncé stan's way of looking at things.

Didn't realize this was already posted.
Bonehead move, in any event. Cavs' head coach and general manager even offered $130 million increase for a five-year contract, and he still shunned them. I agree - it was a slap in the face of Ohio.

"They didn't give him one championship ring"? The Cavs bent over and let LeBron **** them in the ass and get EVERYTHING that he wanted, built the team exactly how LeBron wanted it, and he couldn't win with the team that he orchestrated. I'm tired of the logic that Cleveland failed LeBron. This was LEBRON'S TEAM, and he failed to win with his team, so he decided that he couldn't get it done on his own and play second fiddle to D-Wade in Miami, leaving Cleveland with the remnants of the LBJ era.
I'm not even that mad now, honestly, about LeBron leaving, but going to Miami still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and the fact that he took up an hour of time on ESPN to rip out the hearts of the entire city of Cleveland, LeBron's home, where everyone would worship the ground he stood on? That's just cold, no matter how you look at it.
