This article was very interesting. I can relate to the basis of the article, and think that celebrities can play a vital part in someone's life at the low points, but it is sad to see when, in their weakened state of mind, people take "stanning" too far and form an unhealthy fictional relationship with their fav'.

People who end up getting that obsessive about a celebrity or musician have obsessive personalties, they would find something to obsess about or attach themselves to with or without those celebrities. I agree that people get too obsessed and that but if it wasn't a celebrity it would be something else, and it could be worse, it could be drugs or something like that.

Star Wars, video games, world of warcraft , people in their own lives (this results in stalking), gambling, buying shoes. You can get obsessed with pretty much anything. Better music than some other stuff.

I think no one on ATRL is in the position to attack Lady GaGa fans on their obsession. 99% of us here stan for an artist and we all suffer from this obsession syndrome to a certain degree. Some are really obsessed and some are moderate, its important that this obsession stays healthy and doesn't become a delusion.
