She always spoke very kindly and respectfully of Madonna considering their creative differences. Must've been annoying to have always been in her shadow / asked about her. (I'm aware there was a long time when Cher was the superior one, but overall...)

Overall, the two of them are equal, in my opinion, Cher has big classics like Believe, If I Could Turn Back Time, has had some acclaim of herself for her work as an actress and is a gay icon

I'm not sure if kindly would be the right word, she's tugged at Madonna's wig a fair few times, but I get where you're coming from, she does have a lot of respect for her.

ha first big solo hits are from the 70s (where donna summer was bigger) then came nothing and ha next hit was in 1989 while M was superior.
plus they're different generations and you can't compare them imho
