"Someday" and "I Don't Wanna Cry" were from "Mariah Carey", but became singles in 1991 and both hit #1.
"Emotions" hit #1 as well and "Can't Let Go" hit #2, all in 1991.

Lol. As far as the the early 2000's, those years go to Britney hands down. But 2008 and 2009 belong to Rihanna and Lady Gaga respectively. That's obvious to anyone who's not specifically a Britney stan. And the years in between when she was going through her breakdown period and not releasing singles cannot be Britney years either. Delusion?
