It's actually one of her most profound talents: Before she moved to NYC and entered the music business, she had a full scholarship to study professional dance at the University of Michigan.
She isn't as choreography-driven as, say, Janet in her videography (which is a shame) but she's a naturally skilled dancer.

Wow, didn't know that about her! The first vid doesn't work, but i'll watch the 2nd.
She's been making dance music since 1983 and you've never seen her serve choreography? You have only yourself to blame for not seeking it out then. Maybe instead of the time you took to type out this thread title you could've googled Express Yourself VMAs and gotten your life.
I mean just youtube the Holy Water/Vogue performance on the Rebel Heart Tour, I mean it's not much choreo, but she's keeping up with her dancers on poles. She's in her mid-50s and can out dance most 20s pop girls.
She was a dance student in college who was handpicked by professors and got scholarships.
Go watch her tours. Just because she rarely does those robotic choreography doesn't mean she can't dance.
She's actually a very natural mover on stage and was definitely one of the best pop girl dancers out there.
