Yes. Anyone on a pop music forum should be familiar with the queen of pops discography. Seriously its one of the best discographies ever, if you put the time into it.
I think everyone should be familiar with her discography but it comes down to personal taste. She is the one diva who has the closest to flaw free discography. Her sonic decline didn't really happen until Hard Candy, which is impressive considering how fast some of her contemporaries burnt out.
As far as gay people, we should at least have some respect for all the work she did for the community well before it was trendy and how important she was to so many gay people before us.
But I also think we often forget about the icons before her like Cher, Barbra Streisand, Grace Jone, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Eartha Kitt, Judy Garland, etc. I just think gay people need to do better learning about past gay culture rather than just focusing on the next hot singer of today. Like I'm not saying you need to like all of it, but having a piece of culture from the past that connects you to the people who worked towards the culture of relative acceptance we live in today is really special.
It's a great album that doesn't deserve the hate. ATRL is so extra about how 'bad' it is when it really isn't...
. tbh Madonna has hardly a bad album, MDNA can feel a bit uninspired at moments, and some like True Blue can seem awfuly dated but a real bad album on her discog I am yet to find, HC has really solid pieces like Devil wouldn´t recognize you
