Season 5 was of course those four direct-to-DVD movies. The last one,
Into the Wild Green Yonder, was meant to be the "series finale," and is currently airing right now, as the new season plans to pick up right where "season 5" left off, which depicted the entire gang heading into a wormhole after being chased by Zap Brannigan. The actual episode of the series finale, the last episode of season 4, suggested that Leela and Fry got together, as Leela was the only person who stayed to listen to Fry's opera, however any evidence that they did is long gone in the movies.
