If you've watched any NBC shows recently, you've seen the promos for the new drama "Shades of Blue." In fact, it's getting to the point where it's becoming a little bit of overkill.
But after watching the first three episodes, I can forgive NBC for its enthusiasm. They've got something good here, so it's understandable that they want everyone to know about it.
But it's Lopez who is the star here, and she is outstanding as she portrays all of Harlee's facets - calculated liar, loving mother, desperate criminal - beautifully. Even with everything she's done, Harlee believes that she is a good cop, and Lopez's performance makes you believe that too, making you feel sorry for Harlee, even though you really shouldn't.
