I noticed that on internet American users tend to reference their sources mostly to cartoons, memes, tv show, youtube, wikipedia etc. but never books.
It gives off the impression that Americans basically live by entartainment industry. Some even learn history just by watching crashhistory weekly on YT.
I don't. People seem to think that anybody who doesn't read books isn't smart or educated when it's simply not true. Technology has advanced and you can be a very smart person without reading books. Hell, I know somebody who HATES reading and only does it if they're forced to and they got accepted into an Ivy League university.
