I was just thinking about this the other day since I gave money to some homeless guy. It wasn't a lot it was just a couple bucks from some change I had after buying a quick lunch.

I noticed a lot of people just ignore them and that's ok because it's up to you with how your money is handled. But I'm just curious about how many of you guys give money to these people.

Personally, I wouldn't give to them if I didn't see my dad give them money all the time as a kid (and he still does). I've even seen him go as far as buying them a fast food meal and a can of dog food if they have dogs with them.

Yes I do. I also volunteer every Sunday night at a shelter and stay through the night as an aid. I have a heart for people placed in that situation.

Oh, and pre-judging an entire group of people because of what they "might" be is disgusting, vile, and vain. People who think like that are seriously scum.

Edit: It also doesn't matter what THEY do with the money YOU give them. Because at the end of the day, it is MY decision to help them out and MY recognition of their sad circumstance. MY ability to try to make it better. THEY can decide to do whatever the hell they want - at least they know that from the millions of shallow and TRULY vile people that pass them and dehumanize them daily (just like they are doing right now in this thread), there is someone who actually cares. Someone who has morality, respect, kindness, and love for them as a PERSON.

I just offer to buy them a meal which is usually only about $10 - but at least they can't spend it on alcohol or drugs.

I used to buy those $1 McDonald gift certificates and gave them out a lot, but I think they don't make them anymore. I usually have a lot of change in my bag so I'll use that sometimes. There's really not a lot of homeless people where I go to college, but when I go home to the city that's what I do. But to be honest I don't half of the time.

Yes I have . Once I had two Bacon & Egg pies and I was on this field trip (I had gotten there really early because my grandmother needed to go somewhere so she dropped me off at like 3am.) So anyways, here I was, at the Docks in my little town. ****ing freezing my balls off with some Breakfast Pies and donuts. I only ate one pie and out the rest in my bag to conserve the heart. So anyways, skip two hours ahead. Someone finally arrives from my class. But I hate their ass so I just take a walk to anywhere but here. And I ended up at this park. And while at the park I saw this homeless man just walking around with no shoes and I was just like; , cause he had no shoes and it was pretty cold. So I was like; If I give this bitch some food karma might give me something. So I did. I gave him the other Bacon & Egg pie (it was probably cold anyways).He said thanks and I was like, no problem. Cause y'know. I thought Karma was gonna pay me back.

It didn't. I lost my jersey after the trip and had to walk home. It was ****ing ****.

No. First of all, I'm a college student. Secondly, half of them are fakes or will use the money to buy drugs.

There are homeless people all around my city, it's so annoying the extent that people go for begging, giving you all these stories, it's so tiring. It's stressful just walking down State Street because they are ****ing everywhere. If you want money you're asking the wrong person

Oh and yes I give to the homeless. Sometimes cash and sometimes I take them to a nearby store and get them some food. Once this lady needed diapers so I took her to buy some.
