Every time The Voice airs, the trend in the iTunes thread's to exclude The Voice songs from the convos with the quote: Without The Voice songs.

The soon to winner was the 2nd best selling song last week, and got another top 40 hit for the show -

So it makes no sense, why do you all do that when in fact these songs are actually out selling tons of artists?

I agree that the phrase is dumb, but it's understandable. The Voice acts free-fall quickly and therefore "without" them shows what the chart will likely resemble after that happens.

they just tumble down the itunes chart as fast as they rise up. so in essence, barely any long term dent.

They are not original songs

because they're normally not long-term threats on the Hot 100, and thus their sales in the long run don't matter.

That song will freefall off of the Hot 100 next week (just like tons of other TV songs have done in the past).

It's because they freefall quickly after the show and the other songs start to stabilise around where they normally would 'without the voice songs'

it literally takes them two days to disappear from the chart

You'd think Adele could compete with The Voice but it isn't happening.
