I think people who aren't from here have an idealized idea of the country, in that they think it's cooler than it really is. The conservatives in this country are a total stain and embarrassment on the country. Obsessed with guns, god, and "greatness," ironic as they deliver anything but that.

Also just because our pop culture is exciting doesn't mean we're the best.

i think the US gets an unfair negative reputation on the internet, but i also definitely don't agree with the level of patriotism a lot of people in the US have. the US government and US businesses have done some really terrible things historically (and some of them are still doing things like that) and the society still has a lot of flaws. but in the end, it does have good points too and i think it should get credit for those along with the criticism.

I can't explain it. I know the majority of the American population are probably lovely people, but your country is so damn corrupt. The institutional racism, its gun laws, its overall stance on climate change, its legal system, the obvious lobbying which ties with the excessive money in politics, your absolutely awful health system, and the bias news media. It all comes down to corruption.

I would absolutely love to visit some places in the US though, particularly New York and LA.
