So a lot of ceremonies have proved to be laughable lately, in the past years (Grammys, Golden Globes etc.)

Would you say the Oscars are the only prestigious rewards left?

no. its all based on perception. basically actors have to beg for Oscars by giving heartwarming speeches at all the previous award shows. I forgot which actor exposed them for this.
