Pretty sad, people do horrible things but a relationship after infidelity can be fixed, and if it doesn't work out it shouldn't be the end of the world. Just pick up the pieces and move on, maybe stop cheating again after that. I don't think infidelity should lead to death or suicide.

It doesn't pay to work on government. You take a seriously low salary and you get hounded over every scandal no thanks. They can keep it.
I don't know what government positions you're talking about, but plenty of them pay well. And I don't know why you expect to get involved in a scandal.
