Discussion: What do first week sells prove?

i think when a artist gets big first week sells it shows that the GP trust them enough to to buy there music and know that they are capable of releasing great music, unlike artist who don't get first week sells and need a bunch of top 10 singles to get the public to buy there music.

In my opinion first week sales are really important and they show an artists' pull.

Usually those that get huge first week sales are the ones who also get huge ratings, have bigger fanbases and so on.
