3 years is not a long time to be waiting for a new album. It's only the diehard fans who have been anticipating the album constantly, and making it seem like its release has been dragged out, and delayed repeatedly. As far as the General Public are concerned, Rihanna simply has not released a new album yet, and there is nothing unusual to the General Public about that at all.
