Discussion: What Type of Parent Will You Be?

What type of parent will you be? What type of life do you want for your future child?

I'm not sure how many I want, probably 3. No more than 5. I'm thinking two boys first and then a girl. And then another boy. And then another girl.

My son(s) will be involved in football, basketball and/or baseball. At least two of three. I also want him to at least lightly dabble in an instrument. He's gonna be an overachiever, like his mama.

What about you?

I want to have 2 children, a boy and a girl. I want to get them involved in sports early on and hope that they carry it into their teens, not trying to raise fatties. I want them to be close in age and close with each other. They need to put school before everything else because I am not trying to pay for two full college tuition's

God help me if they go through an emo phase. I don't know if I could handle it.

All the women in my family end up being the bitchy, disciplinary parent so I will probably end up that way as well

If I do, they will do something (sport/music) throughout their childhood and become great at it.

Other than that, I will allow parties and traveling a lot because they deserve to be independent.

I'd be tough when I need to, but overall accepting and pretty playful. I don't ever really get mad, or overly stressed out, and I'm really easy going and hard to rattle so I feel like I'd be the cool parent if it ever happens.

But really, I'll be supportive of whatever they do, as long as it beneficial and they have good goals.

I hope I'm relatively well off so I can give my kids a great life, but I will NOT let them be snobby. They won't be spoiled so they know how to work hard for what they need.

I want many kids, a large, happy, tight knit family. I want to be the ultimate parent, supportive, loving, caring. When there is a problem, you tell me, not keep it inside. I'm your best friend who loves you more than anything, and will protect you. I want to be a guide into life.

I think I will be a good parent. I won't be judging, I will educate them and won't overspoil them. I will also be more open minded. Me and my boyfriend already discussed it, and we both want family. Tho he's only my boyfriend for 1 year, and alot of things can happen until then, but we def want to have 2 kids.

I really want a big family, at least 3 kids. My parents advise against it (even though we are 4 kids)

But I would still discipline them when it's needed and never treat them as a friend, that's the biggest mistake a parent could do cause then kids think they can walk all over them.

On smoking weed, I think by the time I have even my first kid it will be legal nationwide so it wouldn't be that big of an issue. However, I would wait till I found out/they come to me first before I make a decision. And with drinking we start at an early age I'm a Latino household, if you show kids something is bad they're more likely to do it. My siblings and I have been around alcohol since babies yet none of us are drinkers.
