2014 wasn't that long ago, unless you wish to be specific.
I assume you're well aware that ISIS, formerly apart of Al-Qaeda (vs Taliban) were responsible for 9/11, which intensified the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, Iraq in 2003, and Syria in 2011. Don't act like
you just woke up after the Paris attacks.
ISIS however are different because they have attacked multiple nations, of which are apart of the world's security council.
These groups, over the past 15 years, have dispersed across the Middle East, and are infiltrating inside our countries.
All attempts to rid the world of these groups have formally failed because neither Russia nor China were directly involved.
Russia specifically wasn't fully attacking ISIS, but instead the others. Since they were attacked, Putin changed his mind.
The United States, the United Kingdom, China, Russia and France have all unanimously voted against ISIS. It's very rare.
This is present day. Everyone's ****ed off, even Al-Qaeda. Mali also further proved there's an ongoing Qaeda-ISIS war.
