The winningest gymnast in world championship history recently did a photoshoot to promote the Rio Olympics. In one of the shots, she showcased all the medals she won in the last 3 world gymanstics championships. 10 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze out of 17 medal opportunities. The only even she hasn't medaled on is bars, admittedly her weakest.
She's the first gymnast to win three back to back all around titles and the first gymnast to win two back to back beam titles. Get into ha before everyone else.
Watching this all unfold is so weird. She´s doing these incredible things yet is almost completely unknown. But in a 6+ months from now, she's going to be everywhere.

Coming for Gabby's wig in Rio next year.
Well, Gabby took 2 years out after London and has only just come back. Even if Gabby is the defending Olympic champion, she's the challenger trying to snatch Simone's wig. Simone sits unbothered on her throne.
Girl, Gabby would have to be Aly Raisman level on floor, Komova level on bars, and Sanne Wevers level on beam to be able to have a chance to overtake Simone.

Gabby is never going to overtake her, but she can get close enough to sweep up on any of Biles' mistakes. There's going to be so much pressure on Biles at the Olympics after all she has done, so we'll see.
And lmao, Gabby is already a better beamer than Sanne Wevers when she hits.

Simone can still win even with significant errors, as she just did at worlds. Anyway, the silver in the AA would be a majah coup for Gabby. She doesn't have to beat Simone in the AA to "win." Making a second US Olympic team will be enough of a "win" for her because no US Olympic AA champ has ever done that before, and the talent field among the US women is Mobb Deep. Gabby's signed to CAA, a Hollywood talent agency. She's probably going to be getting plenty of endorsements leading up to Rio because Gabby's a familiar face
