Three years ago on this exact date the then best album ever, "Good Girl Gone Bad" (was replaces in 2010 by "Rated R") was released by R&B/Pop/Dance/Hip-Hop/Rock/Reggae artist Rihanna.
"Good Girl Gone Bad", to date, has sold over 7 million copies (correct me if I am wrong - I think it may be more) and is still charting in some countries despite the Queen releasing another album.
Here are the hits released from the ORIGINAL album.
Let us now discuss the album that received multiple nominations and awards, including Ri's first Grammy.
Better than Rated R for pop in my opinion, but Rated R is better in other areas.
My 2007 top25 weekly charts
Umbrella #2, Umbrella/Cinderella remix #1 (2wks), Rehab #3, Hate That I Love You #1(1wk), Don't Stop The Music (3wks), GGGB #5
Disturbia will probably be IMO the biggest landmark of her career. The whole gothic look suited her REALLY well and it's the first time I saw her exuding so much power and charisma.
She jumpstarted the whole "edginess" thing that we currently see in pop music.
I didn't like Umbrella at first but it's a beautiful, melodic and catchy pop anthem I've grown to cherish.
On a more personal note I remember going back home completely trashed while listening to the remix of Push Up On Me...

Yes
That "edginess" seemed to came naturally in "Disturbia".
The reason "Rated R" isn't her best album is exactly that "edginess", she tried too hard to be a "bad" girl.
