Jennifer Lawrence Gets RAVE Reviews For Mockingjay Part 2
Should Jennifer Lawrence Win an Oscar for Mockingjay, Part 2?

Quote:
Jennifer Lawrence rules the day. “The Hunger Games” – and Lionsgate - owes much of its success to Lawrence. Her Katniss is exceptional. Never before as a young female character been so well developed and executed and Lawrence’s unbridled talent is so much more than what these movies are worth. Her subtle but commanding performance, especially here in “Mockingjay, Part 2,” carries the entire weight of the movie and helps solidify this as a satisfying movie franchise

The best part of the entire series has been the fiery and fantastic Lawrence. It was a coup to cast her in the first place, and the Oscar winner gives another fierce performance

Plenty of movies have the battles, futuristic flying crafts and explosive action you find in Mockingjay Part 2.
But no other adventure series has the immense talents of J-Law.

It should come as no shock that Jennifer Lawrence closes The Hunger Games with the same sensational star-power that catapulted her into Hollywood royalty.

Jennifer Lawrence hasn't lost her mojo as this series has dragged on, and remains a magnetic presence every second she's on-screen.

Lawrence makes Katniss more than just a strong female character. She is ferocious but still vulnerable, and few actors of either gender could have delivered the most overtly political speech in current cinema with such emotional conviction.

Jennifer Lawrence’s portrayal, a vividly vulnerable creature of flesh and blood surrounded by sci-fi extravagance of variable quality. In all my reviews of the “Hunger Games” films, I’ve sung the praises of Ms. Lawrence’s work, which seems all the more remarkable now that the series is over and she will soon be seen, once again in comic mode, in David O. Russell’s “Joy.” Her range, from action icon to consummate comedienne, is incendiary too.

It’s no fluke that this series has made Lawrence one of the biggest stars on the planet, and she cuts an iconic figure and the increasingly battle-weary Katniss. She’s grown a lot since the fresh-faced teen she was in THE HUNGER GAMES, and her performance is a star-turn in the true sense of the term.

Thankfully, Jennifer Lawrence is predictably superb. At this point, you wouldn’t expect any less.

Jennifer Lawrence is on top form as always, and carries the film on her shoulders effortlessly and with much teenage-messiah angst

the mesmerizing presence of Jennifer Lawrence in a signature role as Katniss Everdeen — symbol of the resistance and ace fighter — more than makes up for any flaws in a story that has been dragged out about as far as you can go

Jennifer Lawrence is far and away the anchor of this film. Playing Katniss has turned her into the world's most famous actress. Mockingjay Part 2 hangs on her with almost every frame. Lawrence does an admirable job.

For four years now, Jennifer Lawrence has knocked the poignant role out of the park left, right and center.

Another consistency are the performances of Jennifer Lawrence, who is once again so nuanced and absorbing. It’s a role that shaped and marked the beginning of her illustrious career, and one she feels so evidently entwined with.

Jennifer Lawrence closes out the franchise that made her the biggest star of her generation.
Luckily, those other films took her to the Academy Awards twice, which, added on to her first Oscar trip, for the grim indie Winter's Bone, makes the 25-year-old the face of Hollywood's two career tracks: blockbuster royalty and the prestige nominee.

Lawrence is the kind of star you'd follow anywhere, which makes her the perfect Katniss.Even when the Hunger Games series gets winded pimping old tricks, Lawrence is the oxygen that brings it back to life.

But all of the above factors mean little or nothing compared to the importance of Jennifer Lawrence having emerged as a star in this series. Just 21 when the first entry was released, and an Academy Award winner by the time the second came out, Lawrence is one of those rare performers who has it all: talent, looks, spirit, emotional accessibility and a spontaneous quality that helps every scene she's in come alive.

As for the acting performances, it is hard to comment on anyone other than Lawrence because, well, I don’t really even feel like I was watching the others.
She is such a captivating presence on screen that I can’t find the right words to sing her praises.
A rare blend of youthful freshness and hardened bitterness, Lawrence has breathed life into Everdeen in a way that has made her quite inseparable from the character.
And she can do it all: tender intimacy, big action, heart-wrenching emotion. She is just magnificent.

Jennifer Lawrence is fantastic per usual, and I hope she eventually gets more credit for these performances as opposed to merely being “those blockbuster movies” she did in between David O. Russell dramas

The usual tripe. That she's a bad actress, that she shows no emotion, that she's fake, etc. Fools
And still she'll be laughing (and probably falling) all the way the bank and collecting yet another nomination (for Joy) come Oscars time.

I LOVE JLAW and the hunger games. I was introduced to her thought the movies so It's weird seeing it end. But I do have a few bones to pick with lionsgate. The first movie was promoted PERFECTLY, good soundtrack, great trailers and lots of hype. The second movie lacked that promotion imo as well as mocking jay part 1. They shouldn't have ever split mockingjay, it killed the series' hype as it was the worst book. If they were gonna do anything, they could've split catching fire when they're reaped and that would've been a good cliff hanger

Thank you Jennifer for playing Katniss so perfectly. Katniss is a rather challenging character to pull off. Her emotions and motives are very complex and Jennifer was outstanding. Congrats to her for playing an iconic character that inspires me very much.
