Lauryn Hill "MTV Unplugged 2.0" Appreciation Thread
When the album was released it got like super bad reviews because it was too repetitive and people wanted a more commercial Lauryn, and sales were bad (for that time, it sold like 1.5 million in the US), but I was listening to it last week and so, and I just love the fact that it's a super raw album, very emotional, you can even hear it in her voice. It kind of is a masterpiece because it is such a raw record
Favorite song for me has to be I Gotta Find Peace of Mind, it just hits me every freakin' time I listen to it, and when she starts crying at the end <3 <3 hits home.
Have you listened to the album? Is it under appreciated?
i honestly think the album's better than her studio album
yeah sure some of the songs are kind of undercooked and too long, but they're so raw and sad
I Gotta Find Peace of Mind (!!!), I Find It Hard to Say, Mystery of Iniquity and I Get Out are some of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
