I've always been under the impression that a lot of people hadn't heard of Syria before the crisis in 2011 and so may not know much about the country and its history than what you've been seeing.

Here's some contextual info: I'm 19, I was born in the UK to two Syrian parents and I would visit Syria (Damascus to be specific) twice a year since I was born up to 2011.

So ask me anything, about our culture, food, history, people etc (nothing political though because I have a headache).
