I have dark brown hair/chestnut brown and I always wanted it to bit lighter like light brown (chocolate brown) or some other shade close to that. I tried henna to my hair but the color didn't change at all. I was wondering are there any temporary hair dyes but not bleach where I can dye my hair without ruining it and looking natural but bit shades lighter or perhaps different than my actual hair colour ? Also, I want the dye to fade completely.

If you have dark hair and want to lighten it, some kind of bleaching will be needed. You can't really put a light dye on something dark and have it be light.

I bleached my hair (at the salon) once and my hair was as good as ever. Maybe even better actually. It was so soft

there is no such thing as a temporary dye that lightens your hair while looking natural.
