Overrated implies that anyone (GP, critics, or otherwise) likes it.

It was never overrated at all. It had its' criticism for being too slow & not really representative of gay life. Nonetheless, I loved the characters & it was great to have a fully gay-centric show on TV (even though it didn't last long).

I think it's a great show (the first season, at least). It might not be the fastest paced TV show ever, but that's what makes it credible and relatable, it's about everyday life and the focus is more on the characters than on a specific story.

Queer As Folk (US) did that better

They say it wouldn't be a show about gay topics, and it was a show about gay topics. Sad and tragic.

it was good but I really despise Jonathan Groff as some 'quintessential' or relatable gay character

I think it was okay but could've been miles better. We really deserve a good modern gay show like it (Transparent doesn't really count).

It wasn't great but it was nice to have it. It's not like we have many choices on modern tv
