What would happen to the music industry if labels decided to stop doing business with iTunes and Spotify (and all other forms of streaming), and thus, digital methods of purchasing music disappeared?

Would online piracy just increase or would actual sales increase as well? Or both?

What's your take on it? I could very well see this being a possibility in the next few years or so considering the music industry is legitimately dying at the moment.

Online piracy would of course skyrocket. Apple & Spotify are great because they're easier to use than anything illegal, a lot easier to have your credit card on file and click to buy, rather than trawl through virus / scam infested sites.

Piracy would increase becaue my MacBook Pro doesn't have an optical drive so I couldn't be bothered to buy CDs.
