Will the quality "weaken" or "worsen" as I convert an AAC file to WMA or will it not change?

Also, which file format is the best?

Note: The reason why I am asking this because I am about to download songs from iTunes to my Samsung YP-S3 an WMA Player, it does not play AAC format, but plays MP2, MP3 and as said WMA.

AAC is the better format. WMA is dead. You'll be better off converting to MP3.

That means I have to buy from 7Digital US which is no big deal.

Thanks boo. What sucks I that my WMA player will automatically convert the AAC file to WMA and that's what I was basically wondering...good thing that it also plays MP3 though.

Or you could just download iTunes for free and convert them there.

I already have iTunes, but the file that iTunes use is AAC right? Can I convert an AAC file from iTunes and convert it to MP3 there?

I don't think it makes a noticeable difference in quality, it's just a restricted format.

If for any reason you'd want to convert the WMA files, you'd then notice a loss of quality - not much, but more so than MP3.

Yes. Just go to:

Preferences -> Import Settings -> Import Using: MP3 Encoder

You can then right-click songs and convert them to MP3.
