Justin: Sorry Is about Selena & the media!
Quote:
"Justin’s interview covered a wide array of topics including his image repair, his past relationship with Selena Gomez and his maturity – both in his music and personal life."
So far, so teenage rock’n’roll rebellion As Rod Stewart tutted last month, "Justin Bieber wants so much to be a bad, bad rock star. But you either are or you’re not – you can’t fake it. He tries too hard."
In the recent Hollywood comedy Ted 2, Morgan Freeman’s lawyer addresses the errant talking teddy bear thus: "I’ve read about your life: the drugs, the parties, the prostitutes, the arrests… You’re special. You could have been an inspiration to the world. A leader. A role model. Instead you’re… Justin Bieber," he intones with distaste. "There’s just no indication that you’ve had any positive effect on the world around you."
"I’ve been around for so long that people thought that maybe I had a number one already," a grateful and no doubt relieved Bieber tells Access Hollywood presenter Billy Bush.
"I debuted at number one and I think I’m the youngest person to debut at number one, which is pretty awesome."
I’ve just heard some of his new music, and he interjects excitedly: "How sick is the album, dude?"
Quite sick. It also seems reflective, quiet, thoughtful… After a short, minimal intro number, the first full song maintains the slow pace, but has a huge beat. ‘Is it too late now to say sorry, I know that I let you down?’ is the standout lyric. A likely future single. "This is a big one for him," notes the Braun assistant who plays me the songs. I ask Bieber whom he’s addressing.
"Ah, I kept it broad. It meant a couple of different things for me. The media. My ex..." He means Gomez.
After some relationship ups and downs, they finally split last year. But they’re still close, as evidenced by the new single that ‘leaks’ the day after our meeting. It’s an R&B slow jam, called Sorry.
"This is what I want to portray, this is who I am, this is what I want to put out – rather than be like, 'Guys, just write hits for me.' 'Cause obviously I have the connections to be able to have just any writer [write songs for me]."
