I'm seriously so sick of it, you guys. Every ****ing day. It's like I can't even open my eyes in the morning anymore without some broke-ass ho asking for a handout.

Just because I'm the only one responsible enough to hold down a job, go to work every ****ing morning with no excuses, paid off all the debts I owed in one clean sweep and restored my credit, and because I don't waste my money getting drunk and high every goddamn day, suddenly I'm a walking ATM machine.

I've made up as many excuses as I can think of: "I need to save the money for rent", "I have to give this money to support my parents", "I didn't get paid that much this week", "Overdue bank fees ate up most of my salary" ... Hell, even YOU can hear how lame and unrealistic these excuses are,BUT THESE PATHETIC SCRUBS WON'T TAKE THE DAMN HINT.

Suggestions PLEASE. Anything constructive would be helpful at this point.

Omg some of my friends think that too, one owes me 400$ and he's having bday this week so we agreed on him giving me all his bday money to pay it back and after that its the last time I lend money, its so annoying.

Just firmly tell them that you refuse to give them money and request that they stop asking. The excuses you provide might give them the impression that you would give if you could, which would motivate them to keep asking in case your circumstances change.

Let's see, one's a pathetic junkie is who tried to get me to supply his drug habit because his dealers won't put up with his "I'll pay you next week" **** anymore.

Another is a perfectly fine, healthy male who decided it would be a better use of his time to jam out to the radio every day while the government throws free money at him every fortnight.

The third loser has a gambling addiction and is down $62,000.

The fourth is a 50 year old divorcee who refuses to work because that would mean he has to pay child support and alimony.

And the latest boy wonder is a kid who emancipated himself and now has no ****ing idea what to do now that Mommy ain't around to clean his underwear anymore.

They're my housemates. I can't control who the landlord allows in, and there's still 8 months left on this lease.

Believe me, I'm not bragging or anything like that. I gave some money out of pity at the start, sure, but now its starting to feel like an obligation or something. It's not large amounts but whats annoying to me is that I'll get excuses like "I'll pay you back tomorrow" and then they just disappear for a few days and then dont talk about it after we see each other again, like its all swept under the rug.

I don't like judging other people's background, but it's not like they're invalids who can't work? Just how long do they think this type of lifestyle is going to pan out?

Saying 'No' isn't easy for some people, but it needs to be set in this situation.. Hope it works out for you.

Pfft I'm not smart. I just figure, I make about $50k p.a. right now... it's not possible for me to blow through that kind of money in a year. So if i budget myself, I can use 1 week's pay to pay 1 month's rent, and leave my food budget at about $150 per month, that should only come up to $5,850 + $1,800 per year. There should be more than enough left over after taxes to feed my savings account.

But what's the point of getting my finances in order and clearing all debts if I'm just going to blow through my budget to support someone else?

Girrrrrl, I don't think you quite appreciate how dire my situation is right now. At this point, I'm coming back from work and immediately hiding myself in my room now. The next step is going to be ignoring the people knocking on the door if I don't figure out someway to stop this madness.
