According to Billboard.com, Jay Z and Lil Wayne are the two rappers with the most appearances on the Billboard Top 100 chart. They have had tremendous success getting their songs charted and whether they are the lead artist or featuring, they seem to always get their songs onto the Billboard Top 100 chart.

" This week, Lil Wayne's "I'm Single," from his 2009 "No Ceilings" mixtape, lands at No. 82, giving him 57 total career appearances on the Hot 100, the second most by a rapper behind Jay-Z, who has 60."

Pretty impressive !!!! wonder who will come out on top in the end !!

at least it shows he is able to blend into different types of genres and can make artists around him better and get recognized like Keri Hilson, Jay Sean, Kevin Rudolf, among others..

True, he is great, but still 29 is pretty shocking.

He does about 2 genres... he just does a lot of songs.

what I meant was he is able to blend into different types of genres. Like he is able to put a rap verse into almost any type of song. "let it rock" was rockish, "down" and "I can transform ya" was r&b etc...

I guess but I think that's just a function of rapper appearances--they've made their way into the mainstream and you find them in all kinds of pop songs.

Notice they're both somewhat rent-a-rappers.

it's very hard for a rapper to hit number one bc nowadays airplay counts and bc rappers songs are explicit , a lot of radios don't play them so it affects the songs chart position !! Perfect example is 'drop the world' which peaked at #18 just on digital sales bc airplay wasn't a factor , radios didn't add the song bc of the swear words or else it would gone easily top 10 or top 5
