Janet sells out in a couple of minutes
Superstar Janet Jackson may have had problems shifting tickets for her last tour, but since then, things have changed. As we reported previously, Janet will be headlining the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. Her scheduled performance will take place on July 2nd – the first night of the three-day festival. The astonishing news is that tickets for the Janet performance were sold out in minutes. In fact, it is the fastest sale of tickets in Essence festival history!!!
Last night, the 43-year-old also tweeted that she has just finished shooting the upcoming cover for Essence magazine. In more good news, her single ‘Nothing’, which is the theme song for her latest movie ‘Why Did I Get Married Too’ has also reached #16 on the Hot Adult R&B Billboard charts.
Wow. Ms Janet is certainly ruling. Though, I can’t help but wonder if this sudden surge of interest to see Janet perform has anything to do with her latest declaration of never (possibly) recording more albums in the future. With her King of Pop brother passing away almost a year ago, and many fans losing out on the chance to see the world’s biggest legend take to the stage for the last time, it appears folks are treating this like a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity. As in, when something or someone is ’still’ here, don’t take it for granted. After all, it could be a very long time before Janet ever embarks on a full-scale tour, sadly.
