Glee couldn't have lasted, tbh. I stopped watching at the beginning of season 3, because there was literally nothing interesting. Always the same thing over & over.

All that happened was that the majority of viewers caught onto the fact that below the happy glossy friendly surface the show was just perpetuating stupid archaic stereotypes. Nothing devastating happened to that show. People just stopped wanting their intelligence insulted relentlessly, every week.

And literally the same thing is happening with Empire, and it will go the same route.

Many cast members got big headed, there was always rumors of drama on that set. And not only that after the second season the writing became a mess because the three original writers weren't working together simutaneously anymore.

Eh, at least the show got 4 Golden Globes, 3 acting Emmys, a Directing Emmy, and a Sag Ensemble win before its fall.

I don't see Empire doing that.

And I'm sure that the success of Glee helped FX get totally behind AHS (which itself spawned Scream Queens and American Crime Story).

I literally just watched the last episode (I'm a bit behind y'all as UK shows it 2 weeks behind) and nothing happened expect everyone knows Rhonda is pregnant and Becky G (Valentina) is apparently snake.
Literally that's all that happened in the entire episode. So disappointed.

The issue was Glee got more seasons than it deserved

He has no one to blame but himself. Once the show found its trotting, he low key abandoned it to 2nd rate writers and he was focused on other shows (the New Normal, AHS etc...)

I think it just got so messy and overdramatic after the second season.
